Zitat:About the fires... They are fairly close, more so in the hinterland + mountains. Although we have water catching large bush areas behind us, with lots of wildlife, but the council did some BURN-OFFS before the fire season started, to prevent the bush fires....unless some idiot lights them or lightening strikes the very dry brush. We've had a nasty drought over the last few years, the inland and farms are dustbowls and water in some townships has run out. My youngest son lives in the bush on 320 hectars, has no water, electricity or phone connected....but is totally self sufficient with watertanks and dam - now dried out. Has to have water carried in by truck; fortunately, he developed a water filtering system. Electricity is SOLAR energy and satelite phone. Sparodic if no work at all and food has sky-rocketed.
Well, he prefers to live on the land and tries to help the farmers.
Here on the coast - all is dry as well and we're looking forward to a more than average hot summer, not much rain and cyclones, water restrictions. So, no more garden....
